Two beloved favorites inspired by folk music – Vaughan Williams haunting Fantasia on Greensleeves and Aaron Copland’s tender Appalachian Spring – cradle and console the 1940 Clarinet Concerto by the 19-year-old Ruth Gipps, composed as her fiancé, and all of the Empire, departed for war. The Upper School seeks a host family for an exchange student for the 2025-2026 school year. For over a decade, St. Christopher’s has benefited from a special partnership with an international organization called ASSIST Scholars. Founded in 1969, ASSIST pairs high-performing, exceptional high school students from around the world with approximately 75 independent day and boarding schools in the U.S.
We will host an informational coffee on Thursday, March 27 at 8 a.m. Several past host families will be on hand to describe their experiences and answer questions.
