Afternoon Enrichment

Learning and Exploration beyond the Academic Day

St. Christopher’s Afternoon Enrichment program provides opportunities for learning and exploration beyond the academic day. Classes are open to all students in the Lower School and are offered in three sessions: Fall (September-November), Winter (January-March), and Spring (March-May).

Afternoon Enrichment is a separate program from Extended Day. All Lower School boys are welcome to register for Afternoon Enrichment. Students enrolled in Extended Day will be escorted to their classroom at the end of their Afternoon Enrichment class.

  • 3D Design & Printing

    Grades: 3rd-5th 
    Dates: Wednesdays (7 weeks) January 22 - March 5
    Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
    Cost: $125
    Carpool Location: Pepper Avenue Carpool Loop

    In this session, boys will learn the entire process of 3D printing and explore their creativity by bringing their designs to life. Boys will learn the fundamentals of 3D design using Tinkercad and will see how their models print using our Bambu Lab P1S printer. Reflection and revision will be a major focus of our session as boys learn tips, tricks, and techniques. Discover the 3D world with Ms. Richards!
  • Brilliant Builders - Applying Programming, Technology, & Engineering Skills

    Grades: 3rd-5th 
    Dates: Thursdays (7 weeks) January 23 - March 6
    Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

    Our brilliant builders will use awesome technology tools such as LEGO®, Makey Makeys, Ozobots, Dash, and/or LEGO® Spike Prime Robotics to examine the design process and solve real-world problems with Ms. Warren. This session explores a unique combination of great challenges and fun for all budding engineers!
  • Clay, Paint & More! (1st & 2nd)

    Grades: 1st & 2nd 
    Dates: Wednesdays (7 weeks) January 22 - March 5

    This Mixed-Media class is a collage of artistic experiences rooted in one fundamental creative principle – providing children with the foundation to inform and inspire their vision and imagination. We will explore line, shape, color, texture, shape, and pattern through creative 2D and 3D works of art. We will be creating and exploring drawing and painting techniques, collage, and sculpture in various mediums and styles. The study of famous artists will be introduced through age-appropriate literature and vibrant visuals. This class is dedicated to providing children with inventive art instruction and projects that will enhance their creative problem-solving skills and encourage out-of-the-box expression. All materials are provided. ALL NEW LESSONS with Lower School Art Teacher Meg Foster!

    Our brilliant builders will use technology tools and applications to become creative builders, coders, and engineers. From Dash to Code-a-pillars, Ozobots, Scratch Jr., and more, our brilliant builders will explore a unique combination of great challenges and fun with Ms. Warren!
  • Dance Discovery Workshop

    Grades: 3rd-5th 
    Dates: Thursdays (7 weeks) January 23 - March 6
    Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

    Dance Technique Sampler: Explore a variety of dance styles, including boys' ballet basics, funky jazz, and contemporary, with some acrobatic moves, all in one class! Develop improved strength, flexibility, coordination, and agility. Our Creative Movement instructor, Rai Anne Larkins, will introduce students to the discipline and structure of a typical “studio” dance class with the opportunity to show what they have learned in an informal performance at the end of the session.
  • Soccer Shots I

    Grades: JK-K  
    Dates: Thursdays (7 weeks) January 23 - March 6

    Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s program focusing on individual skill and character development. Players will be provided an opportunity to be challenged with soccer skill-building, fitness, fun games, and team interaction. Children will also be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner. 
  • Soccer Shots II

    Grades: 1st & 2nd
    Dates: Tuesdays (6 weeks) January 28 - March 4

    Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s program focusing on individual skill and character development. Players will be provided an opportunity to be challenged with soccer skill-building, fitness, fun games, and team interaction.   • Storyboard Studio: Create Your Own Comic

    Grades: 3rd-5th

    Have you ever wanted to create a thrilling comic or a compelling story? Or are you stuck on fleshing concepts out? Whatever the project, Ms. Auernheimer will work on methods to develop stories and visuals to portray them. We’ll tackle character turnarounds, outlines, scripts, thumbnailing, etc… all at your own pace. Let’s get creative!
