Varsity Baseball Throws No Hitter In Win Over Steward

by Edison Pellumbi '25
On Wednesday, March 26, a pitching masterclass from three underclassmen powered varsity baseball to a 4-0 win over Steward. EJ Johnson '28, Charlie Blanton '27, and Palmer Berry '27 combined to no-hit the Spartians, and the four runs the Saints plated were more than enough.

Johnson set the tone early on the mound, posting a 1-2-3 first inning. After another quick second from Johnson, the Saints plated two in the bottom half with RBI from Charlie Parker '25 and Gibson Beck '28. The Steward bats stayed quiet while the Saints added two more runs later in the game. With the hit column still reading a zero for Steward, Berry worked a quick seventh, with a groundout to Beck ending it, to complete the no-hitter.

With the win, the Saints moved to 6-2, their next action being on Saturday, March 29 against Glen Allen in the Deep Run Tournament.
