On Monday, October 21, the varsity soccer team went to City Stadium to face off with Collegiate with the Prep League on the line. If either team won the match, they would take the full share of the Prep League title. With a draw, it would come down to Friday, where a StC win over Woodberry would see the Cougars and Saints sharing the title, but Collegiate would take the full title with a Saints draw or loss.
The two teams ended up drawing 1-1, and the Prep League will go down to the final match. The Saints' record is now up to 8-3-4 on the year, and 2-0-1 in the league.
Collegiate opened the scoring first with a goal in the 30th minute. Around 13 minutes later, Tyler Overstreet '26 sent in a corner which was headed in by Steven Bishara '25 to level the match. The match went to the half at 1-1. The Saints controlled the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net. Both teams had some late attacks, but a heroic diving save from Dougie Boardman '25 off of a Collegiate corner in the 90th minute miraculously kept the Saints level.
The Saints will travel to Woodberry on Friday, October 25, needing a win in their 4 PM matchup to take a Prep League co-championship.
