Saints' Bulldogs End the Season, Steam Rolling Collegiate 30-0

By Philip White '26
In the Saints Bulldogs’ final game of the season, they shut out Collegiate 30-0 at home making the Saints 6-1 on the season!
Going into this final match up against Collegiate, Coach Chewning challenged his team to replicate what they did at Fredericksburg Christian last week and get out to an early lead allowing a cushion for the rest of the game. They did just that, scoring on 4 of their first five drives for a score of 30-0 at the end of the first half. Russell Bosek ‘29 was a key member of the Saints run game during this game after working all season with the offensive line to perfect some new run plays.
Not to be left out, the Saints’ defense was able to apply heavy pressure on the Cougars’ offense throughout the game. This pressure included multiple tackles and sacks in the backfield resulting in countless lost yards for Collegiate. Coach Chewning believes that the Saints defense was so impressive that they were able to hold Collegiate to “negative yards” in the first half.
Coach Chewning also shouted out the “tremendous” job that the second and third string players did during the second half of this game and during the rest of the season acting as “scout team defense”. He says that they were vital in helping the starters improve their game during intrasquad scrimmages and general practice.
Since this will be the final recap of this year's St. Christopher’s Bulldog Football Team, we would like to shout out all the coaches and other staff that helped this team achieve a 6-1 record including Coach Chewning, Coach Geary, Coach Millspaugh, Coach Golladay, Coach Horne, Coach Szymendera, Coach Clelland, Coach Blanton, Coach Keith Wright, Athletic Trainer Robin Eldridge, and many others.
