Saints win over Norfolk in a nailbiter

by Elliott Pellumbi '28
The JV Baseball team played Norfolk Academy on Friday, March 28 at home. The Saints were able to pull through with an 11-10 victory. The game started off strong offensively for both sides, with both teams scoring early. The Saints' and Norfolk's runs seemed to be attached by a string—whenever one team would score, the other would quickly respond, keeping the competition close.

Going into the 7th inning, the score was 10-9 in favor of the Saints, but Norfolk was able to tie the game.

In the bottom of the 7th, the Saints managed to get Henry Rotter '28 and Landon Allen '28 on base, as well as Connor Lacy '28, who was intentionally walked. With the bases loaded and two outs, Mathew Horn '27 came up to bat and hit a hard ground ball into the outfield, allowing Rotter '28 to score and giving the Saints a walk-off victory.

Notable players include Lee Driscoll '28, who closed out the game for the Saints on the mound, and Logan Riley '28, who, with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 4th, hit an RBI triple to score three runs.

The Saints will next play on Tuesday, April 1 at the Miller School putting their 2-1 record on the line.
