St. Christophers Varsity Outdoor Track traveled to Collegiate on Wednesday, April 24, for their 5th meet of the season. Although it was an away meet, it seemed the Saints were right at home, comfortably taking a lead in many events.
Junior Jayden Brown, sophomore Victor Olesen, and junior Durham Dodson brought the Saints the only clean sweep in the 110-meter hurdles placing 1,2,3, respectively. Brown and Dodson also took a 1-2 finish in the 300m hurdles later in the day. Through all of this, Dodson still managed to find time for the triple jump where he placed third with a distance of 37-7.75. Sophomore Maddox White chose to dominate once again as well, winning both the 400m and 100m dash. Additionally, junior Avi Gupta also took home a first-place finish in the 800m run.
The relay teams for St. Christopher's did not let up on the gas, taking 1 & 3 in the 4x800m, 1 & 5 in the 4x100m, and 2 in the 4x400m relay. Individual breakdowns of these events can be accessed through "Track Results" listed below.
Other notable performances include junior Addison Gosline with 3rd in the 100m, senior Jacob Zollar taking second in the 200m closely followed by sophomore Elisha Asare who took 3rd, junior Ford Hunter with a personal best, and second place in the high jump at 6-2, E.J. Seward with second in both the discus at 138-1 and shot put at 45-11. Zollar also took second place in the long jump with a final distance of 20-7.50.
The Saints will look to carry their still-building momentum into their next meet, Saturday, April 27, at Douglas S. Freeman High School for the Gordon Invitational. A few of the track members will participate in the historic Penn Relays April 26-27.
