White '26 breaks school record

by JT Mason '24
The varsity indoor track competed last weekend, January 19th & 20th, against over eighty other schools across multiple states.

The highlight of the meet came from Maddox White '26. The sensational sophomore ran a 6.34 in the 55-meter dash to set the school and meet record previously held by Brandon Thomas '16, who went on to run at Virginia Tech. The time is tied for the best in the United States in White's class, and the fourth-best time overall.

His fellow sophomore, Victor Olesen, continued his dominance in pole vault, winning with a 16-0 jaunt.

Other StC standouts included a runner-up performance from the 4x400-meter relay team, a third-place run for the 4x200 relay team, a fifth-place finish from Asher Green in the 1600.

Immediately after the meet, junior sprinter Addison Gosline - after competing Friday and Saturday - had an impressive lifting session and set a school record with a power clean of 357 pounds (194% of his body weight), setting a new school record after competing in the 55 and placing 5th.
