On Friday, November 1, the Upper School Cross Country Team hosted the Virginia Prep League Championship at St. Catherine's Goochland Course.

Confidently entering the competition with an undefeated record against these teams, the Saints (40) beat Fork Union (48), St. Anne's-Belfield (77), Woodberry (88), Collegiate (93), and Trinity (170) with their 5 scorers in the top 13.

Led by sophomore LT Nguyen (17:03.2) in 2nd, the Saints had an average time of 17:45, seven seconds ahead of Fork Union's 17:52.

Other top performers for the Saints were junior Asher Green (17:16.8) in 5th and senior captain Liam Kurzawa (17:57.7) in 9th. 

The Saints will close out their season on Thursday, November 7 when they travel to the Panorama Fields in Charlottesville for the VISAA State Championship. 

"At VISAA I think we'll be super competitive, up with those top 5 teams for sure", said Liam Kurzawa in an interview last week.
