Saints Triumph over Fredericksburg Christian 36-8

By Philip White '26
Last Wednesday October 23, the Saints Bulldog Football (4-1) took down Fredericksburg Christian (2-1) 36-8 at home.
Going into the game, the Bulldogs knew they were going to have a challenge ahead of them especially with the strength of FCS’s offensive and defensive lines. Coach Chewning encouraged his team to be as physical as possible and to try to get out to an early lead. They did just that with Coach Geary’s offense scoring in all three of their first possessions giving STC a comfortable cushion for the rest of the game.
Not to be overshadowed by the offense’s impressive push at the beginning of the game, the Bulldog’s defense also had a great game against Fredericksburg Christian. They were able to apply heavy pressure on FCS’s offense leading to multiple hurried plays and turnovers. They were also able to limit the usually very high scoring FCS to only eight points in the entire game.
One star player on both defense and offense was Emmanuel Moore ‘29. After missing the last game against STAB, Emmanuel was a vital part of this win against FCS with multiple tackles and a great pass break up on defense. On offense, he had multiple impressive runs including a touchdown establishing the team’s offensive rhythm.
This win against Fredericksburg Christian brings the Saints’ record to 5-1 going into their final game of the season against Collegiate this Wednesday October 30. Coach Chewning says he is excited for the upcoming game after their impressive showing against Fredericksburg Christian, but he says he has cautioned his team to not get overconfident against a historically strong Collegiate team. He hopes that his team will have “no regrets” at the end of the game, and that it has been an amazing football season with this team.
