On Friday, October 4, the Saints varsity football team hosted FUMA on Knowles Field in one of its last home games of the season. The Saints (4-2) defeated the Blue Devils (1-4) in a 44-8 blowout match.
RB Michael Farley Jr. ‘26 continued to stand out on offense, rushing for 84 yards and a touchdown, averaging 12 yards per carry, and receiving 2 passes for 27 yards and a touchdown. LB/RB Addison Gosline ‘25 also ran for 34 yards and a touchdown.
WR Jaerron Johnson ‘27 had his best game of the season, catching 4 passes from QB Chase Roberts ‘26 for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. Roberts had a total of 4 touchdown passes and went 8-11, scoring on half his completions.
The Saints defense took control, holding FUMA to 115 offensive yards and 8 points. Gosline, DL Darius Gray ‘26, and LB Bowan Ireland ‘27 all had a sack, and Gray and Gosline each had 2 TFLs. Meanwhile, DBs Elijah Asare ‘26 and Deacon Begley ‘25 both recorded takeaways, Begley off an interception and Asare off a fumble recovery.
For their next matchup, the Saints will travel to Woodberry Forest on Saturday, October 12 at 2:00 pm where they will take on the Tigers and hope to start another winning streak. Their last matchup with Woodberry ended in a 27-20 overtime loss at home.
