Playing their fifth game in five days, varsity baseball welcomed Christchurch to Jacobs Field on Wednesday, April 16. They won by a 12-2 mercy in six innings, moving their record to 13-5.
After Bennett Vaccarino '25 threw a quick first inning, Willie Hurt '25 tripled on the first pitch the Saints saw on the afternoon, then later came around to score to give the Saints a 1-0 first-inning lead.
After a pair of homers from Charlie Gunn '27 and Bryce Neely '25 in the following inning, they had a commanding 4-0 lead and never let it get closer than that. After plating three runs in the sixth to make it 12-2, the game ended on mercy rule.
Their next action is on Thursday, April 17, when they take on Woodberry at home at 4:45 pm. This will be their sixth game in six days before they get a well-needed break over the Easter weekend.
