Standout baseball player Charlie Yorgen has ended the recruiting process, committing to East Carolina to continue his baseball career.
Yorgen, a 5-10 junior, is an excellent fielder at his shortstop position, has speed and the tools to be a nice lead-off hitter at the next level.
Yorgen went on a visit this past weekend and committed later Saturday.
"It's always been a place that I really wanted to play," said Yorgen, who was starting to gain heavy interest from other schools, prompting ECU to step up and secure its target. "When I got the opportunity to continue playing there I knew that's what I wanted to do, so I jumped on."
With two seasons left to continue to improve his game, the Pirates are getting a solid prospect early.
"One thing I need to work on is my arm strength and speed," Yorgen said. "If I continue to improve on those I think I can be a good player in college."
