Last Thursday, January 30, futsal played three matches. StC Red escaped undefeated in two close matches against Trinity and Collegiate 1st teams, and StC Gray beat Benedictine’s 2nd team 6-1. StC Red stands at 7-0-1, and StC Gray stands at 6-2-1.
StC Gray put up a scoring clinic against Benedictine. Colin Dexter ‘28, Cash Kisner ‘27, and Beckett Scallon ‘28 each scored a goal, and Nick Parker ‘27 scored a hat trick. Hayes Carithers ‘26 collected 5 saves while holding Benedictine to a single goal.
After going down 0-1 in the 1st half against Trinity, StC Red, led by goals from Jack Bleecher ‘25, Gardner Kaufman ‘25, and Daniel Kehoe ‘26, stormed back to win 3-1. Trinity struggled to get by Ben Smith ‘25 who racked up 5 saves in the win. At halftime against Collegiate, the Saints found themselves down 3-5. The Saints rallied back in the second half and allowed zero goals. Jack Bleecher ‘25 had a hat trick, Max Mumford ‘25 had two goals, Gardner Kaufman ‘25 had a goal, and Ben Smith ‘25 had 4 saves.
The Saints will play again Friday, January 31, at Collegiate. StC Gray plays at 5:50 while StC Red plays at 5:15 and 7:00.
