Coming off a win on the road at Cristo Rey, the Saints took to the road again on Friday, December 13 to take on Highland Springs.
It was the Elijah Brandon show early for StC, with the junior pouring in twelve first-quarter points to give the Saints a tight 14-13 lead. In the second quarter, Darius Gray '26 began to take over as the Saints outscored the Springers 19-4 in the frame to give them a 16-point advantage at the break. The lead got up to as big as 24 and even though Highland Springs fought back to get it down to 11 at one point, the Saints comfortably controlled the game throughout the second half.
Brandon scored 24 points, only needing 13 shots to do so. Gray was a force in all facets of the game, scoring 20 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, blocking 3 shots, and coming up with 5 steals. Senior Stuart Cosby found his shot in the second half, hitting two threes out of the break and scoring 15 points on the night.
With the win, the Saints move to 3-1 on the year. Their next action will be on Friday, December 20 when they take on L.C. Bird at 6:30 PM at the Henrico Sports and Events Center at 6:30 PM in the 804 Coaches for Change Community Classic.
