On Saturday, October 26, the Saint Christopher's Varsity Football team traveled to North Cross to take on the Raiders and suffered yet another loss. The Saints’ (4-5) defense did not play up to standard, letting up more than two touchdowns for just the second time this season, but once again, the offense appeared to be the weak link in the 24-6 loss. Their only scoring play against the 7-1 Raiders came halfway through the 4th quarter. 

Despite only putting up 6 points, QB Chase Roberts ‘26 went 16-26 and put up a season-high 191 passing yards, including a 55 yard completion to RB/LB Addison Gosline ‘25. He also managed to avoid big turnovers, something the team struggled with against Trinity, and threw no interceptions. North Cross’ impressive pass rush did record 5 sacks on him, however, for a total loss of 24 yards.

On the ground, the Saints only netted a total of 85 yards. RB Michael Farley Jr. ‘26 accounted for 44 of those yards on 20 attempts and a 1-yard rush for the team’s only touchdown of the game. His longest run went only 6 yards.

For the first time this season, the defense did not record any sacks as the Raiders’ offensive line kept their quarterback clean, although they did manage 5 TFLs. Their one turnover came from a fumble forced by DB Gavin Johnson ‘25 and recovered by LB Walker Turley ‘26, and DL Darius Gray ‘26 and DB Elijah Asare ‘26 combined for the teams 3 breakups, Asare getting 2 and Gray getting 1.

While the team’s rushing offense put up one of their most impressive performances yet, only letting up a total of 41 rushing yards to North Cross, the secondary struggled as they allowed 264 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns on 12 completions.

For the first time since losing game one against Camden, the Saints will go into their next matchup with a losing record. That game, being held on November 1, 7:00 PM, will be against their old rival in Collegiate (3-5) on Senior Night, where they will hope to put an end to their 3-game losing streak.
