The varsity outdoor track team finished third in the Prep League meet at Woodberry Forest Saturday.
The Saints went 1-2 in the 800-meter run with Joey Cuevas '16 and Jack Workman '16. Cuevas ran 1:56.20, tying the school record for the win. Workman wasn't far behind at 1:56.89.
Virginia Tech recruit Brandon Thomas '16 was once again dominant, winning the long jump (23-5 1/2) and placing second in the 100 (10.88) and 200 (22.04) to future VT teammate Michael Davenport (WFS).
Harrison Rice '18 achieved a personal record in the pole vault going 14-8, good for second.
Tazle Sumpter won the shot put with a throw of 51-0, and placed second in the discus (138-1).
The 4x400 team finished second in a time of 3:29.53.
The state meet will take place Saturday, May 21 at Sports Backers Stadium.
