That is what happens when sixty-eight, fifth grade boys dress up as a word of their choice and parade around the school to inspire the BIG WORD thinking of all who see them pass by.
The fifth grade boys were inspired to have their own parade after reading Debra Frasier’s Miss Alaineus: A Vocabulary Disaster. The fifth graders were encouraged to select words that would help stretch the vocabulary of the younger boys and had to create a homemade costume that described the word. The younger boys enjoyed guessing which vocab word went with each costume.
