Five consecutive state titles

Tennis continues its historic run.
The varsity tennis team knocked off Collegiate 5-2 to win its fifth straight VISAA state title.

The Saints, seeded second, took a 2-1 lead after doubles thanks to No. 3 flight Gray Dion '28 and Harrison Willett '25. The duo trailed by a game or two all match long before rallying to take an 8-7 lead before the Cougars forced a tiebreaker. The duo dominated in that period, winning 7-4. The No. 2 flight doubles team of Bo Barbour '25 and Bennett Krusen '28 won their match comfortably.

In singles, No. 4 Krusen took care of his opponent 8-0. Then Dion won his singles match at No. 5, setting the stage for No. 3 Barbour. Barbour's serve was off for the entire match, but he fought through and was money when it counted, as his win clinched the title for the Saints.

There looks to be no end in sight for this group as coach Richard Peyton and Pontus Hiort return the entire team next year, as it included no seniors.
