With head coach Tony Szymendera sitting on 499 career wins, the varsity baseball team welcomed Woodberry Forest to Jacobs Fields under the lights. They ended the night with a 3-2 victory, earning Szymendera his milestone of 500 wins. With the win, they move their record to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Christian Gray '26 threw five strong innings, only allowing two runs. His go-ahead RBI in the bottom of the 5th also made him eligible to earn the win. Wally Jones '25 continued the trend of pitchers helping themselves out, driving in a run early in the game, as well as pitching the last two innings and earning the save. Jack Demm '24 also drove in a run, and Henry Knighton '25 came across to score twice as a part of his 2-3 night.
The Saints take on Woodberry again soon, as their next game is on the road against the Tigers on Saturday, April 20.
